A Strategy to Beat the Competition

Since organizing this company in January 2006, I have spent countless hours helping companies increase their competitive advantage by solving their business problems and improving their financial information infrastructure. The ways in which I help my clients generally fall within the job description of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). However, the unique and complex challenges of my clients do not require the full-time services of a CFO.

I currently serve clients in the following industries: general contracting, subcontracting, financial services, consulting, wholesale/retail distribution, real estate marketing, real estate development, language interpretation, and film/commercial production. My CFO partners and I focus all of our efforts on companies that need our help on a part-time basis and budget.

From a financial perspective, what do you know about your industry and your company that your competition doesn't know? More importantly, what does your competition know that you don't? What financial information would give you a greater competitive advantage?

While rhetorical in nature, these questions generate thoughts that can help steer the financial strategy of any company to a sustainable competitive advantage. Such an advantage can lead to greater customer and employee retention, better decision-making at a tactical and strategic level, and, eventually, higher levels of profit.
